U.S. Supreme Court to decide legality of Ohio's process for removing inactive voters from rolls

Naifeh acknowledged Ohio's practices have gone on for decades. He says the lawsuit was spurred by particularly aggressive purging in 2015. Ohio had record voter turnout in 2008, when Barack Obama was first elected president, and many voters who registered to vote in that election were purged in 2015. Naifeh said Ohio also eliminated same-day registration for early voting in 2014, which made the process more harmful by removing an opportunity that voters had to correct erroneous removals and vote.
