McGhee is the President of Dēmos, a public policy group based in New York City, focused on climate change, inequality, and democracy reform. She is credited with helping shape key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Dēmos, which means “the people,” aims to create a society where everyone has “an equal say and an equal chance,” according to the group’s 2000-2016 Impact Report.
